Make Your Signage Something Consumers Will Never Forget

Want Customers to Buy? Give Them a Sign

Emotion plays a big part in any shopping trip. Point of purchase retailing is about translating that emotion into a buying decision.

“Retail displays engage shoppers at a critical moment,” says Mark Zastrow, Vice President-Sales and Marketing. “They’re close enough to see and touch the product, they’re reacting to it on some level, and they have money in hand. It’s a huge opportunity.”

While lots of elements go into a successful retail display, not the least of them is signage. And the potential impact of signage—both short- and long-term—is often overlooked.

“Signage can transmit a lot more than just information,” says Mark. “People see point of purchase as mostly about promotion. But it’s also an opportunity to build relationships with a brand.”

In today’s tough economy, many manufacturers are choosing logos and signage that convey more warmth and “accessibility,” according to news reports. Today’s watchwords: Keep it simple, keep it clean, keep it friendly.

At SMS, we’re experts in retail signage systems that turn shoppers into consumers and consumers into brand fans. Let us help you with your next promotion or brand initiative. We understand how signage translates into sell-through, and we can make it work for you.

Superior Service:

Good for You, Good for Us

At SMS, we aim to deliver outstanding service every day. Now, scientists say we’re not just helping you when we do that; we’re helping ourselves, too.

Research suggests that people who regularly help others typically experience more pleasure, better health, and even longer life. According to a recent article in The New York Times, we may have an inborn urge to assist others. Further research shows that people who act on that urge through service and volunteering experience lower levels of stress hormones and reduced risk of heart disease. They also report experiencing less pain and fewer low moods, even when they themselves aren’t well.

So please give us every opportunity to help you stand out in the marketplace through outstanding service. We like what it does for your business. And we like how good it makes us feel!

SMS Teams Up to Serve Our Community

Because we feel blessed in so many ways, we like sharing our abundance with others. In recent months, it’s been our privilege to volunteer at the Open Arms Mission in Antioch, which serves Lake County, IL families and individuals in need. This winter we volunteered at the food pantry as a team, helping to distribute milk and boxes of food, and we also “adopted” two families, collecting toys, clothing and housewares on their behalf.

“This has been so nice to do, especially together,” says Sandi Zakroczymski, our office coordinator. “Every one of us has gotten so much out of volunteering. I’m sure we’ll do it again the next chance we get.”
